I used to think that all newer kid shows are much worse than the old, but then I tried watching episodes of Inspector Gadget, He-man, and others more recently with some of my nephews and realized how bad most of them really are.

Cartoons I can somewhat remember as a kid:

Looney Toons

He-Man

Jem and the Holograms (she's excitement afterall)

Smurfs

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Inspector Gadget

The one I remember the most is TMNT. I don't think I'll try to watch any of that though, as I don't want to spoil the memories. Because, cowabunga, dude.

Theodore Tugboat:

reason- It's set in halifax and most of the boats/characters are named after Nova Scotia towns.

Halifax even has a replica of Theodore who gives harbour tours to tourists now.

My parents still don't have a TV.

As a consequence, I read an awful lot...

That's good. TV rots your brain anyway. I haven't had a TV in years and I am mostly fine. Mostly.

Not sure what I am going to do if/when I have kids without an electronic babysitter. Maybe be a parent or something.

I LOVED Dragon Ball Z; my friends and I used to pretend to be various characters at Recess and pseudo-fight.
I had a similar love for Sailor Moon--and my friends and I, once again, played out the anime at Recess (if that wasn't an early sign... >.>)

And for the picture above of marbles = Seriously, everyone at my school played those (along with Crazy Bones [and even earlier, pogs] but I don't know if anyone would remember those)--it got quite intense.

More like 80s or early 90s. Now I got that damned Gummi Bears theme in my head. If I had a decent internet connection in the moment, I would probably link to a youtube video of it so all could suffer as I am.
