OMG I think I've figured it out. I'm going to PM you to make sure.

[edit] Poo, your inbox is full. Emailing it to you. :P

[edit] Dammit, got it wrong. :( Was really close though, just missed the final step. I think I misread the dates because they were in the same column.

Blame HouseArrest for Aurelius not having enough inbox space. I gave it to him but he accidentally took it away. ;)

And the dodgy grammar in that is really annoying.

Yeah I kept thinking that was part of it, very distracting.

Yeah, it's actually from a secondary school Math Olympiad in Singapore, hence the Chinglish.

The answer is out there on the internet. If you've read it, please share your venting here. The solution that I read (after I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out the significance of Bernard's statement) seemed right.

I read the explanation and I still don't understand the logic. Maybe if they'd provided more information like who she told what, I might begin to get it. Maybe I'm a bit slow, but I was even more confused by the explanation than the problem.

They did say who who got the month and who got the day.

Cheryl then tells Albert and Bernard separately the month and the day of her birthday respectively.
